Booyong is a fabulous and peaceful retreat ten minutes’ drive from the rural town of Wauchope which has small country town atmosphere complete with old fashioned department store, home ware, fashion stores and cafes.
In one direction, you'll find the hustle and bustle of Port Macquarie with its beautiful coastal beaches. In the other direction you’ll find yourself amongst grassy rolling hills and what has always been prime dairy country, heading towards the mountains of Comboyne, Ellensborough falls and stunning national parks with great bushwalking and mountain biking tracks.
If you’re feeling adventurous you may like to go horse-riding in Bellrowan Valley 15 minutes from Wauchope or kayaking in the Hastings river.
The area is blessed with stunning beaches and the Hastings River – a fishermans paradise. Perfect and secluded spots can be discovered for fishing, a picnic, or you may enjoy a coastal walk or afternoon at the beach.
Visit the Billabong Koala and Wildlife Park or go on the Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail where 51 Large scale individually designed and handcrafted koala sculptures are strategically placed around the Hastings landscape.
Check out the Bago Vineyard with enjoy regular Sunday afternoon Jazz and let the children explore the largest hedge maze in NSW while you enjoy local gourmet cheese and wine produce from the cellar door.
And of course Timbertown is only ten minutes away can’t go unmentioned. The classic village and well known Australian Heritage Park has recently been given a facelift and will soon include a bakery and café.
